Tuna Tournament Report

We got the new boat to Ocean City just in time to fish the Ocean City Tuna Tournament. We had a great time fishing with Frank Sherman and his guests. Our first day, we started out trying to catch a stringer of yellow fins, but all we got was white marlin bites. Congratulations to Tyler for catching not only his first white marlin, but the first white marlin caught aboard the Billfisher. Seeing as this was a tuna tournament we felt as if we needed to run inshore to The Elephant's Trunk to try for a bluefin. Almost immediately we hooked a nice fish which we ended up boxing....a 69" bluefin!

Heading to the weigh in on a brand new boat is a great feeling especially when the fish you have on board ends up weighing 164lbs . Although we didn't win the tournament, we won a daily for the heaviest fish on Day 1.
